Melbourne public transport etiquette has many unspoken rules. Here is a list of Melbourne public transport etiquette faux pas you should avoid making.

- When people are trying to get off the train and you are in their way let them through.
- If you are standing take your backpack off and hold it. You are just getting in everyone’s way.
- Give your seat up for disabled, pregnant and elderly passengers.
- Have your Myki ready before you need to touch off.
- Don’t stand in the way of the Myki touchpoints.
- Share the poles with others. Do not lean on a pole so no one else can use it.
- Be aware of the priority seats. These are designated for disabled, pregnant and elderly passengers. They will either be labelled or coloured orange.
