Rainbow Families Ski Weekend 2016

2015 was the first time that RAINBOW FAMILIES hit the slopes together. Approximately 40 lesbian mums, gay dads and their kids from the Sydney, Canberra and Wollongong areas put on their warm winter clothes and spent the weekend together. Everyone had a blast sledding and skiing on the slopes, and socialising with each other back at the lodge.

We are pleased to announce our second annual RAINBOW FAMILIES Ski Trip will take place in July.

RAINBOW FAMILIES will take over the Cool Mountain Lodge in Providence Portal in the Kosciuszko National Park on the weekend of July 29-31, 2016. Gay dads, lesbian mums, trans parents and our assortment of wonderful rainbow kids will all be able to gather together in a safe environment to meet, mingle and play.

Situated on the shores of Lake Eucumbene, Cool Mountain Lodge is just a quick 15-minute drive from Mt Selwyn and offers spectacular views and a slew of activities that will keep even the most active rainbow families entertained.

Activities include Snow Skiing, Fishing, Mountain Bike Riding, Horseback Riding, Bushwalking, Sightseeing and 4×4 touring whilst those who are feeling athletically challenged can kick back in front of a log fire with a hot toddy or a nice cup of tea.

The main Lodge has 22 rooms, all with private facilities, hairdryer, clock-radio and central heating. Tea and coffee are available 24 hours a day in the dining room.

There are also 3 common areas, including a lounge with a log fire and a games room with a pool table

Child up to 10 years $80.00 per night
Child 11 to 15 years $95.00 per night
Adult (16 and over) $130.00 per night
Child 2 years and under $20.00 per night

Rates include a buffet-style continental breakfast. Rainbow Families stay in the Lake View Rooms over Lake Eucumbene with king-size beds. Family rooms are 2-bedroom rooms or interconnecting rooms that can sleep up to 6 people.
