Unique Melbourne Hens Night ideas that don’t involve strippers
I’m sure you’ve been to the standard hen’s party. There are penis straws, penis shot glasses, penis-shaped foods and little penises everywhere. The typical hens night usually involves some innocent lap dances or at least some shirtless men.
I don’t know why we do this or why we suddenly become obsessed with little penises before we get married. Maybe it’s because we’re doomed to look at the same penis for the rest of our married days. The truth is if you’re happy with the person you’re marrying you shouldn’t be worried about looking at the same penis for the rest of your life.
Here are some fun things you can do for your hens that don’t involve any naked men!
Melbourne Amazing Race themed hens night
The premise of this is pretty simple. You basically have a race around the city and see whether the bucks or hens can reach the final destination first.
Along the way, you can even do challenges to gain extra points. I recently went to an amazing race themed hens night in Melbourne and it was the best hens I’ve ever been to. We even had small challenges along the way. This included things like performing a human pyramid and proposing to a stranger.
Here was the itinerary for the hens I was involved in:
- We caught a limo to our first destination Beer Deluxe where we had dinner and drinks
- Next, we went onto Storyville where we had to finish 4 large cocktails as a group in a small period of time.
- After our next clue, we headed over to an arcade and tried to get the most amount of tickets to beat the bucks.
- The next clue sent us over to a Karaoke bar where we sang our hearts out to obtain the next clue
- Our next clue told us to go to a fried chicken place. When we arrived there were vast amounts of fried chicken and fries waiting for us. We had to finish our food in order to obtain the next clue.
- Number 6 was our final clue. We were sent to a rooftop bar only to discover that the bucks had made it there first. Regardless we had a great time and we danced the night away with the boys afterwards.
You could re-create this in Melbourne quite easily. Some venue ideas could be your favourite restaurants, some mini golf at Holey Moley or some drinks at Naked for Satan.
If everyone puts in this shouldn’t be too expensive. For the hens I went to it was only $85 per person. This also covered the cost of the bride.
Girls weekend away
Think of this as a honeymoon for you and your girlfriends. There are so many destinations you can head to from Melbourne. Head on down to the Yarra Valley for a weekend filled with great food and wineries. If your budget is higher maybe spend a few days on the Gold coast or up in Sydney.
Spa day
A spa day can be a great unique way to spend your hen’s party. To make it even sweeter you can head out to dinner or drinks afterwards. There are so many spas within close proximity to Melbourne that it shouldn’t be too hard to find a great place to spend the day. For a relaxing spa day head up to Pennisula hot springs but try to go on a day that isn’t too busy or try booking your own private spa as this can get quite busy.
Hidden bar crawl
Melbourne has so many great hidden bars. A hidden bar tour is sure to surprise everyone even if they are life-long Melbournians. This will be a great fun adventure and you will learn about some cool new venues along the way.
Winery tour in the Yarra Valley followed by dinner and more drinks
Spending the day away in the Yarra Valley is a great way to spend a hens day. Organise a tour that will take you between wineries so that you don’t have to worry about driving. These tours will usually also involve lunch so food is covered! The Yarra Valley is full of fantastic restaurants that you can retire to after your winery tour. Drink and eat the night away with your girlfriends!
Thrill-seeking hens day
Thrill-seeking activities can be some great bonding experiences. Activities you can try include go-karting, paintball, hot ait ballooning, rock climbing and many many more.
