A Day At Rick Shores Burleigh – Restaurant Review & Menu
When you hear about a restaurant in another state so many times, it’s fair to say that it is not only worth a visit, but an attraction in itself. Rick Shores Burleigh is a restaurant experience that I will not soon forget, with an incredible menu and unbelievable location that can’t be rivalled. If you have Rick Shores in Burleigh on your must-visit list, then here is your complete guide to the menu, the best seats in the house, what to do before and after, and more!
Rick Shores opened in 2016, founded by four Gold Coast locals, David Flynn, Frank Li, Nick Woodward and Andrew Hohn. if those names sound familiar, they are also behind Little Valley and LONg Time restaurants in Brisbane. Sticking to what they know, Rick Shores is an Asian fusion restaurant with a strong seafood selection on offer. It was formerly Meesh’s on the Beach, but Rick Shores has truly been reimagined in its new identity.
The Rick Shores Burleigh location
If you have been to Burleigh before, you will understand just how many quality cafes and restaurants are out there. Despite these hot spots, Rick Shores in Burleigh has the best location and view of anywhere up and down the shoreline. In fact, there are some times of the year when diners are turned away as the tide is high and water literally washes into the restaurant.
When you enter the restaurant from the front next to John Laws Park, you have a straight view of the water with the restaurant design in a three-tiered design. Diners can also enter and exit through the side and find themselves right on the beach.
When you make a booking, be sure to ask for a table next to the bi-fold windows so you can watch the waves crashing as you make your way through the menu.
The menu at Rick Shores Burleigh
The success of Rick Shores is not simply dependent on the location, the Rick Shores menu is absolutely a drawcard. Perfectly balancing Asian fusion and seafood luxe, there is lots to like on the menu. The most famous dish on the Rick Shores menu is the Moreton Bay Bug Roll – a must-order!

Planning your trip to Rick Shores Burleigh
If you are heading to Rick Shores as part of your inter-state travel plans or making the drive from Brisbane, you are going to want to make the best of your time. Here are some ideas on how you can enjoy what Burleigh has to offer in addition to checking out Rick Shores.
Continue the fun at Burleigh Pavillion and Justin Lane
Almost as popular as Rick Shores is the Burleigh Pavillion, which is actually upstairs. This makes kick-ons all too easy, and there is a similar decor in both spots so you will not be plunged into a new vibe when your experience at Rick Shores ends. If you are heading out to Rick Shores for dinner with friends, then we would recommend heading upstairs to Burleigh Pavillion or not far down the road to Justin Lane. Justin Lane is a restaurant and a rooftop bar, with so many sections in this huge venue to have a quiet drink, a boogie on the dancefloor or just take in the nightlife atmosphere on the roof.
Let the kids loose at nearby green spaces and Club Burleigh
If you are heading to Rick Shores for a family meal with little ones, then there is also a great range of things to do in the area. You could exit from the side of Rick Shores Burleigh and head to the beach for some fun in the sand, or you could leave through the front and play on the playground at John Laws Park Burleigh.
Club Burleigh is another great spot for families, as it is essentially an arcade with a huge calendar of kid-friendly events ranging from arts and crafts activities, face painting, kids playrooms, pinball machines and even live entertainment for children. Club Burleigh is a great spot to eat as a family without having that all too familiar feeling of anxiety as your kids run amuck in a mostly adult environment.
Take in the views from Burleigh walking tracks
If you are someone who prefers to have a walk after eating a big, decadent walk, then you are in luck. Lunch at Rick Shores Burleigh should be followed by a wander to the neighbouring Jebbribillum Lookout. Here you will get an incredible vantage point of the stunning shoreline, with a gradual gradient making the walk pleasant. If you have never been to Burleigh before, you might like to sign up for a self-guided tour that starts at Burleigh Head National Park and takes you through rainforests and back to the water as you walk alongside the beaches of Tallebudgera Creek. This is a fabulous way to see Burleigh and a fun thing to do after lunch at Rick Shores.

We hope you are excited to head to Rick Shores and see why this restaurant continues to win awards in Burleigh, Queensland and on a national scale. Be sure to ask for a table by the bi-fold windows so that you can watch the tide as you enjoy a fine meal.
