Why do wedding photos take so long?
Once in a lifetime celebrations like weddings aren’t complete without photos. If we come as guests, we tend to fully charge our phones and even bring our handy cameras to capture the moment. Still, if you’re the one that’s being wedded, hiring a professional photographer is something you should not skip. They are always part of the event, making sure that they produce the best pictures for your wedding, disregarding the ugly ones (because we hate them).
However, we may ask ourselves as to what makes them take so long to send the official pictures —- it’s just taking a picture for heaven’s sake! But no-no-no. Photographers are more than that. Aside from ensuring all is captured, the perfect pictures don’t go in an instant.
What a photographer does
We all know that they are tasked to bring professional cameras and take photos for you and your guests. Yet, when it comes to great photos, regardless of whether it’s a wedding or not, the pictures aren’t as perfect as you expect them to be.
Hence, all your wedding photos go through a series of scanning and editing. Photographers don’t give you the photos in the wedding as some may look or turn out so bad; they seek to give you only the best captures of the event, making everything appear magical and happy even though just in frames. Moreover, these pictures also go through an editing process. Some photos may turn out so dark or so bright, thus needing some retouching to remove imperfections. While this may sound easy to hear, handpicking and editing them one by one is very time-consuming.
Therefore, it will be sure that the waiting time will be worth the wait, and they’ll surprise you with how the final photos will turn out.
How long does it usually take
Before hiring the photographer on your wedding day, a contract will be given to you. Varying photographers have differences in the span to produce your photos, and usually, it takes 3 weeks to finalize the photos. However, some photographers may take longer than the usual waiting time, as they also need to budget their schedule in catering to other events after your wedding.
But worry not. Professional photographers are very transparent and honest with their contracts and usually, they just give you the maximum time for photo production —- they might be able to give you the photos sooner than expected.
Talk about underpromising to surprise.
What should I do?
If you want to get the photos real quick, there are photographers out there who can provide you with what you need. Even so, it might be risky to consider such as doing the editing fast may entail a lot of imperfections. And mind you, it might turn out to be a huge disappointment.
The best suggestion for this would be to wait and trust the process and let your photographers do all the magic. As it is a work of art and needs more time to create, the photos can even turn out better than your initial expectation. Patience is the key, mates!
