What to Do with Old Wedding Cards?

Getting sentimental with events that only happen once in a lifetime is valid. You just wish you could turn back time and put every happening in stills to preserve a good memory. Weddings, for instance, provide you with a memory of love, binding, and great vows that you always cherish. With an event like weddings, you may get a handful of souvenirs to take home. Yet honestly, we often put it inside a box, in the attic, and to be covered in dust… unfortunately.

For sure you have endless pictures in your album. Preserving them is good, but what about the others? You might have kept or still have your wedding cards on hand. But do you dispose of them? —- it’s also a significant remembrance on your wedding day, might as well put them into good use.

But how? It’s just a bunch of words printed on a seemingly nonsense paper. Yet a good way to use them is to recycle or preserve them.

Album Covers

We know you have printed pictures of your wedding day placed into an album. You can make use of your wedding cards and place them as album covers for it. To make it more appealing, you can try gluing accessories on the hardcover, make sure to add accents that coalesce with your wedding theme, and place the wedding card at the center. This will amplify the feel of your wedding album cover, and let your artsy self do the rest.

Frame it

Corny as it seems, but if you’re so sentimental with every element on your wedding day, then why not put your wedding card in a frame? You may place the framed wedding card beside your wedding photo and it can be a good way to even remind you when your anniversary is. Let’s just face it; some of us even forget when and how many years we are married. It’s okay to admit it, lovebirds!

Wall art (in a frame)

Repurpose your wedding cards into something that you can use to decorate your home. You may purchase a heart-shaped punch and punch the important details written on the card. Place them on a creative frame and hang them on your wall. This is a good craft where you can make good of your extra wedding cards.

Origami

Perhaps, you still have a pad of wedding cards waiting to be disposed of. Not yet… or never even try burning or putting them in a trash bin. If you’re already bored at home, you can make origami from the wedding cards and place them in a transparent bowl. You can use it as a centerpiece on your living room table and also put some ornaments or dried scented flowers for a great transformation —- makes your living room smell good too!

Mini Envelopes

Wedding cards are mostly made from hard paper. To not let it go to waste, you may try folding them and making some mini-envelope for letters and gifts. However, it is necessary for the printed area to face the insides of the envelope, making it more minimalist and even appear like it is not recycled at all. There are many ideas on the internet as to how you can transform them into envelopes yet mostly crafty ones.

Memory Box

If it happens that your wedding cards have messages on them, a great way to preserve them is by putting them inside a sturdy box. You may have friends who wrote you love letters and endearing messages on the cards during your wedding day, so it might be best to put them inside a case so you can re-read them during your anniversary (or during ordinary days). Your memory box must be strong and hard-wearing, so your cards can be protected and kept away from termites or anything that could affect the cards. It’s a great idea for you to look back with your partner aside from pictures alone.

Care to have spare time to preserve your wedding cards? Perhaps you can do them in your free time. It’s just easy, no need to complicate how your wedding cards can be preserved and look creative for years!
