The 9 most Useful Beauty Tips everyone should know.

In the last 10 years, there have been many advancements in the beauty industry that encourage a healthier and more natural self. From more organic ingredients, mindful application and more non-invasive treatments women and men are now able to nurture their bodies from the inside out.

Whilst many of these treatments have been around for years – changes in the technology of formulations make up most of these current-day changes.

1. SPF – Neer forget to use SPF

has always been recommended the increased desire for agelessness continues to emphasize the daily application of SPF. Exposure to UV rays causes premature aging, and dry and wrinkled skin, with less glow and a dull appearance. Additionally and more serious is that sun exposure can create cancer which may lead to surgical intervention.  Many emerging and old cosmetic brands are now including SPF in their existing product ranges or are creating new ranges with higher SPF components.  Many of these brands and emerging brands – now offer tinted moisturizers with high SPF for daily wear which allows a more natural non- made up look whilst providing the utmost protection from harmful rays.

2. A higher price – does not always mean quality

The global reach of social media means that a savvy (low-price) beauty product can now go gangbusters based purely on the truth of its efficacy and results rather than the budget behind the marketing campaign.  Many emerging cosmetic brands or start-up skin care companies no longer need to rely on huge marketing costs to be included in Vogue magazine rather the product can go viral based on its own merit. This is great because it means that there is more money available in the business to be put into the quality of the products

3. Change your product if it no longer works

because the needs of your skin and hair may change over time. Skin conditions such as acne, dryness and sensitivity can delve or worsen due to various factors such as hormones, aging weather diet, and stress.

4. Tattoo Removal

New technologies mean tattoo removal is nowadays more tolerable (less painful) in the marketplace. Perhaps not considered a true beauty treatment however to return to a state of natural beauty the removal of old tainted (ex-boyfriend’s name argh)  and faded tattoos is big business. With more devices available the price of tattoo removal has decreased making it a much more affordable option for many people.

5. DIY can be just as good as salon beauty treatments.

Over the COVID lockdown, many hairdressing supplier shops, beauty brands, and hairdressers themselves saw an opportunity to offer at-home ranges to support their clients away from the salon. Many of the formulations were too tricky for us to understand prior to lockdowns however the pre-bundled kits containing professional quality products allow for us to now do touch-ups in between salon visits.

6. Recent scientific research supports dietary health.

Your gut health and diet will impact the way you look. Look after your gut health – Nutritional supplements and gut health are now strongly associated with anti-aging and beauty benefits. From clearer skin, brighter eyes, and fuller plumper skin, fewer wrinkles, redness, and puffiness the food you intake is important. Particular gut sensitivities can impact the production of acne and rosacea (redness) so a diet that is suitable for you will improve your appearance.  Improved gut health will also improve the absorption of nutrients in your food giving you a spring in your step.

7. Getting enough sleep

Something your grandparents would have told you over and over again  – and well yes your Nanna knows best. When you sleep your body has a chance to repair and regenerate itself. This means that your skin, hair, and nails can benefit from a good night’s sleep. One of the most noticeable effects of sleep on beauty is the skin. Lack of sleep can lead to dark circles -puffiness and dryness in the skin. During sleep your skin’s blood flow increases which can help to bring nutrients and oxygen to your skin cells. Additionally, the production of collagen increases at night whilst sleeping keeping your skin firm and supple. Hair is also prone to become brittle and sleep deprivation can lead to hair loss. Nails too can become weak and brittle with compromised sleep quantity.

8. Exercise can increase blood flow

which can help to deliver oxygen and nutrients to your skin cells. This can result in a healthier, more radiant complexion. Reduced inflammation: Regular exercise has been shown to reduce inflammation in the body, which can help to prevent skin conditions such as acne and rosacea.Increased muscle tone: Exercise can help to build and tone your muscles, which can improve your overall body shape and contour.Improved posture: Regular exercise can help to improve your posture, which can make you look taller, slimmer, and more confident.Reduced stress: Exercise is a great way to relieve stress, which can help to reduce the appearance of stress-related skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.Better sleep: Exercise can help you to fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer, which can lead to a more rested and refreshed appearance.Weight management: Regular exercise can help you to maintain a healthy weight, which can have a positive impact on your overall appearance and confidence.

9. New technologies in the beauty space

like non-invasive body contouring treatments like fat freezing (also called Cryolipolysis or Coolsculpting ®) . Despite having FD and TGA approval for many years – (2009) and clinical evidence to support permanent fat loss, there are many people that still do not know about fat freezing as a permanent body contouring treatment option. Fat-freezing is continuing to dominate the cosmetic industry for non-invasive fat removal. Fat freezing targets pockets of subcutaneous tissue (the fat cells under the skin) by applying a cold suction-type cup. Throughout the cooling treatment, the fat cells are damaged and are then eliminated naturally via the lymphatic system over the following 3 months creating a reduction in the thickness of the fat cells in that treated area.  The benefit of fat freezing over the more traditional invasive surgeries is just that – it is a walk-in walk-out procedure that can be performed during lunchtime. There is h no downtime no needles and no blood, yet the fat cells that are damaged during the treatment, once eliminated are gone for good – resulting in a permanent shape change.  So rather than dieting and failing or starting another exercise program that will make no major changes to your shape – fat freezing is one non-invasive proven permanent way to reduce pockets of fat so that you can have the body that you desire.

Fortunately, scientific research can now provide evidence of the benefits of many of these beauty tips that were once only a rumour held firm by our Grandmothers. Science also provides us with advancements in technology to not only improve formulations in makeup and skincare it also provides newer technologies such as fat freezing for body contouring.

So whether it’s a good night’s sleep as your Grandmother would tell you,  or a trip to your local clinic there are many ways you can improve your beauty. Keeping up to date with recent trends and technology backed by science will give you confidence that the beauty tips you are following are working for you.
